Welcoming Intern Emily

This week we are pleased to have Emily LoTurco join our practice! Emily will be with us for the summer. Many of our moms and families have already gotten to meet her at their clinic visits this week. If you haven’t yet, you will get to soon! Emily is only on her second day with us, but I can already tell she will be a great addition to the practice for the summer.

Emily LoTurco is a dual degree Psychology and Allied Health student at the University of Connecticut. When she isn’t studying, she spends her time working as a peer educator for the Health Education Office presenting programs on sexuality, stress relief, and relaxation. Her honors thesis is on alternatives to hospital births, and once she graduates she plans on attending graduate school in order to pursue Midwifery. She recently completed the training to become a doula with DONA International and is now working on obtaining her certification. She also enjoys playing her guitar, climbing mountains, and baking.
