24 Feb Welcoming Rachel Voigt!
I am so pleased to introduce to you Rachel Voigt, who will be joining Twin Cities Midwifery as a midwifery student for the next year. She has already completed her academic training at Birthwise Midwifery School in Maine, and is joining our practice to continue her clinical experience and apprenticeship. Rachel will be joining me for all clinic visits starting March 17th, so each Twin Cities Midwifery family will have the opportunity to meet her soon, and get to know her through their care. I wanted to give you a little bit of Rachel’s background before meeting her at a visit. Check out her bio below.
Rachel Voigt is a second year student at Birthwise Midwifery School in Bridgton Maine. She grew up in the Milwaukee area and has been interested in birth work since a very young age. During her senior year of high school she began to work as a doula and then, after graduating, moved to Maine to start the academic portion of her midwifery training. Since starting at Birthwise, she has had the opportunity to work with a birth center practice and a home birth practice in southern Maine. She will be spending the next year in Minneapolis working with Twin Cities Midwifery and gaining experience as a student midwife. Rachel believes that birth can be one of the most empowering experiences of a woman’s life and she feels that it is important for midwives to stand along side women through the childbearing year. In her free time Rachel enjoys photography, kayaking, watching too much Netflix, and spending time outdoors. She is excited to begin attending births in Minneapolis, as well as to explore the city.
