12 Apr Saying Hello :) Saying Goodbye :(
We’ve got some news to share with our families and community. We have been so lucky to have Lauren Froelich as our amazing office manager for the past 3.5 years, but as she welcomes her 3rd baby this summer and starts homeschooling in the fall, she will be closing the chapter of her time with TCM. Lauren has been absolutely fantastic at every aspect of her role. I know it is safe to say that our clients have enjoyed their interactions with her, but that is really just the tip of the iceberg of how she spends her time. She keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, and takes many responsibilities off the shoulders of our midwife team so that the midwives get to focus more energy on providing exceptional client care. She also tracks insurance claims and is the go-between for all things related to insurance billing, which really is like translating another language, and also patiently reminding insurance companies to do their job correctly. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for the time and energy Lauren has shared with us. She established and maintained so many systems that are integral to the infrastructure of our practice, and we will continue to use and build on them for years to come. As sad as I am to see her go, I’m thrilled for the excitement coming to her family as her sweet boys grow and welcome another little brother to the mix!
As you can imagine, Lauren’s shoes are quite hard to fill. But I am so lucky that we’ve been graced with many qualified and incredible applicants for her position, and we were able to choose the very best of the bunch to step into her role. I want to extend a warm welcome to Emily Strayer who will be joining Lauren over the next 6 weeks as she trains in, and then fully takes over this very important TCM team member position in June. To give you some background, Emily spent her childhood in central Indiana and grew into an adult in Minneapolis, where she met her husband and lived for 11 years. She worked for 7 years in leadership positions at Whole Foods Market fine tuning her customer service skills, supporting team member development and integrating system efficiencies. After the birth of her first daughter she felt a strong inner pull to work with families during this transformational time in their lives and began her training as a birth doula, lactation counselor and was a founding board member of Twin Cities Doula Project. In the summer of 2015, she and her family moved to Munster, IN where they now live about 30 minutes outside of Chicago. Emily believes there is something very special about the birth community of the Twin Cities and she is so grateful to be a part of it again, even from a distance. She enjoys being outside in the sunshine with her 3 children, quiet nights in with her husband and anything dark chocolate.
Please join me in saying Goodbye and Hello to these amazing women! -Kate
