Twin Cities Midwifery serves families of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities and welcome all bodies into our care! It takes a village not just to raise a child but to support parents through the whole process!
The Queer Birth Project – The Queer Birth Project offers childbirth education and support for LGBTQ families, as well as no cost referrals to queer and culturally aware birth professionals. They offer childbirth education as well as parent groups.
Gay Parents to Be – Resources for starting families, fertility services, available grants and community events.
The Trevor Project – For your child or a loved one, the Trevor Project is focused on building a better, more inclusive world so LGBTQIA2S+ youth can thrive, providing community events, counseling and suicide prevention resources.
Minnesota LGBTQ Pregnancy and Parenting Facebook Group -This group is for individuals and families in the Twin Cities and surrounding area who support LGBTQ pregnancy and parenting. This means those who identify as LGBTQ parents as well as allies.
Gay & Bi Fathers Support Group – The group’s mission is to help gay and bi men who are husbands and fathers develop positive, supportive and rewarding relationships with other men who share similar backgrounds and experiences. The group has two main venues: 1) a monthly meeting held generally on the fourth Saturday morning of the month; and 2) various social activities. The group is comprised of men who have been married and are fathers.
Transforming Families – Transforming Families is a community where transgender, gender non-conforming, and questioning youth and their families come together to support each other in a safe, welcoming space. At our monthly gatherings, separate breakout groups for parents, kids, siblings, and teens provide the opportunity to meet and learn from other people traveling the same path.
Twin Cities Queer Families Facebook group – Online space for Queer-identified parents, grandparents, and caregivers; also parents of queer identified children; a welcoming place to network, seek referrals, share about upcoming events, advocate, and build and strengthen our neighborhoods and overall community.
Twin Cities Gay Mommies Facebook group – The goal of this group is to keep informed of events around town, ask for and give helpful and thoughtful pregnancy/baby/parenting/kid advice, and to have an online community for all of us lesbian mamas or mamas to be.
PSI Queer & Trans Parents Support Group
Breastfeeding outside of the Box – A series of podcasts for parents Breastfeeding Outside the Box, where we aim to support the nourishing and nurturing of babies in exceptional families – families who historically have not received the help and support they need and deserve. Our exceptional families include adoptive, intended, and foster families; gender and sexual minorities; families with special needs babies; parents who have had breast surgery; mothers with IGT or low milk production for other reasons; exclusively pumping mothers; and more.
Inducing Lactation and Relactation with IBCLC Alyssa Schnell – supporting people inducing Lactation for Adoption, Inducing Lactation When Your Partner is Birthing, Co-Nursing, Inducing Lactation for Surrogacy, Relactation, and Resuming Lactation
